21 Email Sign-Offs Better Than “Thanks” or “Best”

Turn this part of your email into an opportunity to connect and think more strategically about the role of the sign-off.

You’ve completed the meat of your email, you’re getting ready to close it out, and hit “send”. You quickly type “best” and add your name. Best, Katherine or Thanks, Katherine. Cool that works… but what if we could do better?

As the coach and business owner you get to set the tone for your clients. Since most of your business with your clients is likely done online, a big part of their experience of you is through their online interactions with you.

You’re a coach, you’re a business owner, you get to set the rules for what you do. So what if you decided to take a little creative freedom with how you sign-off your emails?

Yes, I realize how tame that sounds – proposing getting “wild” by playing around with your email sign-off, but when you think about it typically people just skim that part or stop reading once they finish the core part of your email. This is a missed opportunity to really close thoughtfully, and with the tone you want to set in your relationship with your client.

Your email voice is an extension of how you show up to your sessions with your clients. What vibe do you set for your coaching sessions? How do you like to leave the client at the end of a session? Is it warm and held and full of trust? Or is it with a bold question, is it with a championing? Think about how you can use that same skill, in email format, and elevate your communications with your clients.
